Nose Work Try It Clinic- January, 7th

K9 Nose Work® is an exciting new sport for dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages. Dogs learn to search for novel scents in a manner very similar to professional detection dogs.

K9 Nose Work® allows your dog to develop the natural drive to hunt and find. It’s a very positive experience and dogs are always rewarded. K9 Nose Work® is an excellent addition to a behavior modification program for shy or reactive dogs. It’s a fun bonding experience for you and your dog., Their is a bonus too: Dogs go home tired, and it’s pretty easy for the human end of the leash!

There are 6 classes per session, an hour if there are less than 5 students, otherwise an hour and a half.

Dogs work one at a time and must be able to be confined in their car between turns, or crated in the building when there is room.  Owners watch al ldogs work in order to learn about the movements that dogs make that let us know that they have found the hide.  Plus it is really fun to watch them enjoy themselves.

Tons of fun for any dog!  Reactive dogs are welcome since dogs work one at a time.  Many reactive dogs become less so as a result of this work.  The activity is a also a real confidence builder for shy dogs.  It is not about obedience.  In fact, we encourage you to leave the commands at the door.
