In Dog Agility, handler and dog navigate obstacles in a timed course. Agility is a fun and rewarding way to increase your bond and communication with your dog as well as challenge your brain and body. Your dog gains self-confidence and a partnership with you that carries beyond the Agility ring.
Lead Me On Agility classes are instructed by Ursula and Mary Rotert. These experienced Agility instructors and their students compete in: TDAA, AKC, ASCA, NADAC, USDAA, UKC, and CPE Agility events and have earned Novice, Open, and Advanced titles.
Classes
Prerequisites - Healthy dog with current immunizations including Bordatella. Flea/tick prevention in place. Puppies and junior handlers (children) welcome.
Pre-Agility
In Pre-Agility you will learn the foundational handling commands and skills of Agility and your dog will learn the equipment. These are the skills you will
need later to learn how to negotiate a full Agility course.
Expect to take between 12 - 18 weeks to cover all the basics.
Beginning Sequencing
In this class you take your pre-agility skills and begin learning to negotiate short courses. At this point you and your dog are starting to work off-leash and you learn the more subtle body movements that communicate directions to your dog. These classes are full of fun drills and short courses. Handler and dog must have 12-18 weeks of Pre-Agility or equivilent.
