Boarding
Early Kennel ConstructionUrsula's boarding philsophy is to focus on your dog's emotional and mental well being as much as their physical wellness.  She has loved dogs her whole life and enjoys caring for them knowing she can make the boarding experience fun and interesting instead of stressful and boring.

Staying at a kennel can be difficult and confusing for your dog.  From the dog's perspective the family pack has been separated which they see as a potentially life threatening situation.  The most difficult time for your dog will be the moment you leave on his very first visit.  Ursula schedules all drop offs as appointments so she has uninterrupted time to spend with your dog(s) right after you leave.  She uses this time to get to know your dog, complete a temperment test to see how your dog will do with other dogs, and find out what things your dog likes to do for fun.

Ursula uses her knowledge of dog social behavior and communication to establish herself as a strong, confident, fun, and trustworthy Leader.  She first introduces your dog to her dogs as a guest member of her pack to help them make friends and, if needed, practice their social skills.  Through this process your dog will learn to hone his social skills... something your dogs often don't get the opportunity to work on at home.

Your Dog has his own roomy kennel specifically and professionally designed for its comfort and safety.  Offering privacy and a place to relax, our kennels are welcomed after a day full of activities.

Throughout the day, dogs participate in:

Free Play Time (their favorite time)

Training (also another great time)

Social Time (what fun to meet all the new friends)

Exercise (an excellent way to prepare for a relaxing nap)

Conditioning (great time to do a lot of sniffing in the pastures)

One on One time with Ursula and her husband Dave

Meal Time (some say this is the BEST time!)

Ok, so let's face it... as long as it is fun and varied during the day, it is actually very easy to keep our pups happy!!
